What changes the fee?
Four things, and the quote form asks about each one.
| What changes it | How it works |
|---|---|
| How many machines | A group or a fleet is quoted as one all-in figure for the whole job, in writing, before any work starts. The invoice does not go above that figure. |
| Desktop or on-site | A desktop appraisal is built from the serial numbers, hour readings, records and photos you send, and it fits most files. An on-site inspection puts the appraiser in front of the equipment, which some lenders, courts and insurers ask for. |
| Your deadline | The three speeds above are priced for one machine. Rush delivery is also open to small groups. A larger job gets its delivery date in the quote, set by the size of the job. |
| Where the equipment is | Location does not change the price of a desktop appraisal anywhere in Texas. For an on-site inspection, the trip to the equipment is part of the quoted figure. |
What every price includes
The same report
A faster speed buys an earlier date and nothing else. Each machine is identified, its condition is described, and the market evidence and the reasoning behind the value are laid out for the person who has to review it.
A fee set by the work, not the value
The fee is set by the work a file takes. It is never a percentage of what the equipment turns out to be worth, and the rules of the CMEA designation forbid a fee tied to the value.
One appraiser’s work
The appraiser examines the records, researches the market and writes every report.
