Victoria Equipment Appraisal
Victoria heavy equipment valuations, from excavators and cranes to farm machinery. Starting at $295.

Victoria equipment appraisal is a certified report that states what each piece of a business’s heavy equipment is worth in Victoria, Goliad or Calhoun County. The equipment may be a contractor’s excavators and cranes, a carrier’s semi trucks and trailers, the forklifts and generators of a plant, or a farm’s tractors, combines and cotton harvesters. A Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser (CMEA) signs the report, and it complies with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
- One report can hold a yard in Victoria, a ranch in Goliad County and a crew working at Point Comfort.
- Desktop appraisals rely on your photos and records, and a machine on a plant job stays on it.
- An inspection in person is set up if the lender or the court asks for one.
- Each machine goes on the report with its county once you send it, because three appraisal districts meet here.
- The fee and the date you will have the report are in the quote.
- USPAP-compliant
- Signed by a CMEA
- Rated 5.0 on Google

How do I order a Victoria equipment appraisal?
1. Tell us what it is
The form begins by asking for the equipment in your own words and a count of the pieces.
2. Pick the method and the timing
Then come three short answers: desktop or on-site with the city, how soon the report is needed, and the email for the quote.
3. Send the list by county
After you approve the quote, send the equipment list with Victoria, Goliad or Calhoun beside each line, plus serial numbers, hours or miles, and photos.
What should a Victoria equipment owner know first?
- Three districts close together
- An appraisal district is the office that values a county’s property for tax. Victoria County has the Victoria Central Appraisal District on North Navarro Street. Goliad County has the Goliad County Appraisal District in Goliad, and Calhoun County has the Calhoun County Appraisal District in Port Lavaca. Victoria Central Appraisal District
- The rendition
- Every year a business lists its equipment for its county’s district on a form called a rendition, and Texas sets the due date at April 15. The Victoria district’s cover letter says the deadline can be extended to May 15 when a written request arrives before April 15, and its extension form allows 15 more days, to May 30, for good cause.
- What the Victoria district wants listed
- The Victoria district’s letter tells owners to report machinery and equipment, vehicles and trailers, and special equipment owned or used by the business on January 1. Its long form has a column for heavy duty equipment and a schedule for vehicles, trailers and special equipment.
- Cost detail
- The Victoria district’s slide presentation on how to fill out the rendition says that detailed cost information will greatly aid its effort to appraise a business accurately. Keep the purchase price and date of each machine with its serial number.
- When the report arrives
- A desktop report generally comes 7 to 10 business days after you have sent everything. Rush service, 24 to 48 hours, is there for a list of one or two machines. On-site work takes longer because of travel.
- Fee
- Starting at $295. It rises with the number of machines, with an inspection and with a rush.
What does a Victoria equipment appraiser look at that a tax table does not?
Construction equipment on a 10-year line in Victoria County and a 12-year line in the other two, trucks valued apart from trailers in Goliad County, and corn, cotton and rice machinery.
Construction equipment on three tables
The Victoria district’s depreciation guide, its table for marking equipment down by age, lists heavy commercial construction machinery in a 10-year class and calls its factors typical. Goliad’s guide names dozers, backhoes, construction, excavation and road equipment on a 12-year line and names excavation equipment again on a 15-year line. Calhoun’s worksheet shows construction equipment under 12 years and excavation equipment under 15. So the Victoria guide gives heavy construction machinery a shorter life than the 12-year line the other two use for construction equipment. A table works from cost and age. It leaves out the hours, the undercarriage (the tracks and rollers a dozer or excavator rides on), the tires, and the buckets and other attachments, so send those for each machine. Ask each district which line it used for yours.
Trucks, trailers and what they carry
Goliad’s guide sends all motor vehicles to a separate motor vehicle listing, which its note ties to values such as NADA, a published used-vehicle price guide, and it puts trailers on an 8-year line of its table. Calhoun’s worksheet lists tractor-trailers under 8 years, and Victoria’s table has a column marked VEH. So in Goliad County a truck and the trailer behind it can be valued by two methods. When you send the vehicle identification number (VIN), the miles and any crane, tank or body mounted on the truck, each unit can be given its own figure.
Corn, cotton and rice machinery
In the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s county profile for Victoria County, corn, cotton, hay and rice are among the top crops by acres. A combine is priced on its engine hours, the hours on the separator that threshes the grain, and the headers, the cutting attachments on the front. A cotton harvester is priced on its hours and on how many rows it picks at once. Texas property tax law (Tax Code section 11.161) exempts the machinery and equipment a farm or ranch uses to make its products. The three districts’ guides and forms do not say how each one applies that, so ask before you file.

What should I ask before choosing an appraiser in Victoria?
Will they sort the list by county?
Victoria, Goliad and Calhoun counties each publish a table. Victoria’s puts heavy construction machinery on a 10-year line, and the other two put construction equipment on a 12-year line. A list sorted by county lets you hold each machine’s market value against the right table.
Will the truck and the trailer be valued separately?
Goliad County sends motor vehicles to a listing that works from values such as NADA, a published used-vehicle price guide, and puts trailers on a table of its own. Ask for a separate figure for each unit and for anything mounted on it, so the report can answer either method.
Do they ask which court and where?
Victoria has a federal division of its own, with a courthouse on South Main Street. The bankruptcy judge assigned to it lists a Victoria location and a Houston courtroom. Ask your attorney where the matter will be heard, and enter that date on the form.
Which Victoria offices and courts read an equipment appraisal?
The appraisal districts. Each county’s district sets its own values. An owner who disagrees can file a protest, a formal objection to the value, with that district’s appraisal review board, the panel that hears the dispute, and bring evidence of value to the hearing. Victoria Central Appraisal District
The federal courts. Federal law puts Victoria, Goliad and Calhoun counties in the Victoria Division of the Southern District of Texas, and says court for the division is held at Victoria. The clerk of court’s office for the division is in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Building at 312 South Main. The United States Trustee, the Justice Department office that oversees bankruptcy cases, says its Houston office serves the Victoria Division.
SBA and lender files. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) serves Victoria, Goliad and Calhoun counties from its San Antonio office. Lenders name the value they need, fair market value or orderly liquidation value. The first is what an ordinary sale would bring when the seller has time to find a buyer. The second is lower, because it assumes a sale on a fixed deadline. The loan officer says which one applies.

Hlavinka Equipment Company sells Case IH farm machinery, and Rush Truck Centers - Victoria sells new and used Peterbilt trucks.
Is Victoria part of the Corpus Christi court division?
No. The statute gives Victoria a division of its own, with seven counties, Victoria, Goliad and Calhoun among them. Corpus Christi is a separate division of the same district.
Do you appraise equipment in Port Lavaca and Point Comfort?
Yes. Both are in Calhoun County, which has its own appraisal district in Port Lavaca and shares Victoria’s court division and SBA office.
Is farm machinery taxed in Victoria County?
The machinery and equipment a farm or ranch uses to make its products are exempt from property tax under Tax Code section 11.161. The Victoria district’s depreciation guide has a 10-year line that names farms, and its pages do not explain the exemption, so list each machine with how it is used and ask the district how it treats it. An appraisal reports market value either way.
